1st day
Your Arrival
Your personal guide will meet you outside as you clear customs. You can enjoy a refreshing welcome drink aboard our comfortable transfer vehicle. Hotel Grano de Oro, a converted Tropical Victorian Mansion which maintains the warmth and comfort of a private home is a 20 minute drive from the airport and is located on a shady street just off Paseo Colon in San José.

2nd day
San José - Villa Caletas
The Pacific coast beckons you! Before arriving at the hotel, you will enjoy a hike through Carara National Park; where the wet and semi-dry pacific rainforest meet. This is one of the best places to observe the colored Scarlet Macaw. Later in the afternoon you will check into your hotel. Dinner awaits you at the Mirador Restaurant. On a clear evening you will be able to enjoy the spectacular view of the Nicoya.

3th day
Villa Caletas
Villa Caletas at sunrise will seem like paradise. You will wake up to witness the scenery as it reveals itself. Spread throughout the property are many beautiful spots to see and enjoy, such as the small beach bay at the bottom of the hill, the snack bar, the infinity pool, the hotel gym, the Jacuzzi or the spa for a relaxing treatment . Should you choose to book a Canopy Tour, located about 20 minutes from the hotel, you can always ask your private guide for any assistance you may require.

4th day
Villa Caletas - Playa Quizales, Nicoya Peninsula
This morning following breakfast we will begin our journey along the coast line towards the northern Pacific coast. As we approach the city of Puntarenas we will have the opportunity to see “Puerto Caldera”, one of the main industrial port complexes for both cruise ships and cargo vessels that are vital to Costa Rica’s maritime commerce.
Afterwards we will continue directly to Puntarenas where we will board a ferry for a 75-minute voyage through the Golfo de Nicoya until we dock in Paquera. From here we will continue by land for another 25 minutes to our exotic and fantastic boutique hotel. Tango Mar is a large property located in the south of the Nicoya Peninsula and right in front of Playa Quizales. Tonight a wonderful dinner at the Restaurant Cristóbal will welcome us to this awe-inspiring Pearl on the Pacific coast.

5th and 6th day
Inspiration and adventure
Your personal guide will do his best to make the next two days memorable.
You will have a variety of tours to choose from such as sunset bird watching in the Pochote Mangrove (a nature tour to observe birds and wildlife) followed by a cruise where you can enjoy a bottle of wine with only the finest cheese as the sun sets in the horizon.
Then there is the Curu Wildlife Private Reserve by boat. This experience is a must for nature lovers. Take in the sights as you tour the beautiful coastline and then upon arrival at Curu Private Reserve you will see monkeys and other wildlife.
Maybe you prefer horseback riding. Riding one of our gentle horses is a perfect way to see the sights at and around Tango Mar.
You can also choose from one of the Spa Treatments. Every guest will be served a plate of fresh seasonal fruits.
Later you will be pleasantly surprised by a spectacular dinner served in a location that you thought only existed in your dreams.

7th day
Playa Quizales – Punta Islita
Following breakfast we will continue our journey north of the Nicoya Peninsula. We will drive for about 2 hours passing villages and towns until we reach the village of Islita where the Hotel Punta Islita is nestled. As a member of Virtuoso, the Hotel Punta Islita forms part of the Small Luxury hotels of the World and has been included in the Gold List by the Condé Nast Traveler Magazine for the last years.

8th & 9th day
Unforgettable moments.
Enjoy two full days at memorable Punta Islita Beach.
We will work together with your personal tour guide to pamper all your senses. You may choose from a sunrise bird watching and hiking tour, horseback riding on the beach, a visit to Islita’s own cultural village, or a treatment at Casa Spa.

10th day
Punta Islita – San José
Following breakfast we will leave Punta Islita. The return will be on the scheduled domestic airline and upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in San José.

11th day
Transfer to the airport
It’s time to say goodbye today and we will take you to the airport for your return flight. If you have booked an extension program, this will start right after breakfast.
