Your adventure begins with the charming boutique Hotel Grano de Oro. The hotel is known for its fabulous cuisine.

On the following day, you will get to know the impressive nature and wildlife of the country during rafting. It offers picturesque canyons and crystal clear waterfalls. Do you prefer a land transfer? No problem, we are happy to organize a private transport, a four-wheel drive car. Relax in the Pacuare Lodge in the middle of the jungle.

Your journey takes you further to the cloud forest in Bajos del Toro on the slopes of the Poás Volcano. Experience luxurious mountain suites, a world-class spa and a fine restaurant at Silencio Lodge. Next morning, you will be awakened by the sounds of the surrounding nature and embark on a mystical hike through the cloud forest.

Your next stop is La Fortuna, at the slopes of the Arenal volcano. Enjoy the breathtaking views from the Nayara Hotel Spa & Gardens and hike on 15 hanging bridges to watch birds, plants, reptiles, mammals and insects! What about an optional visit to the famous thermal springs?

We continue to Bagaces in Guanacaste province. Unlike other destinations, you will get to know the tropical dry forest and the "lost river" of natural thermal water. Peace, relaxation, proximity to nature, but also adventure can be found in the Rio Perdido Hotel. Relax in one of the three thermal mineral pools or optionally try canopy or white water tubing! Do you enjoy cycling? Then take the opportunity to rent mountain bikes and explore the hotel's Bike Park.

At the end of the journey, we will take you to the beautiful Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Enjoy the exhuberant beach of the Papagayo Peninsula! Spoil yourself at the exquisite Four Seasons Hotel and watch breathtaking sunsets! An optional golf round on the Arnold Palmer Golf Course, one of the best courses in the Americas, is highly recommended.

During a flight from Liberia to San José, you have another opportunity to enjoy beautiful panoramic views before you start your journey back home. But your Costa Rica experience does not have to end here! Extend your stay and relax on Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches! Contact us, we will be more than glad to assist you.

Spirit of the Rainforest

A luxurious way to discover the natural wonders of Costa Rica, “Spirit of the Rainforest” is a mélange of exciting activities, relaxing moments, and above all, a careful selection of outstanding jungle lodges and small luxury hotels in Costa Rica.

Your first two days in Costa Rica will be focused on unwinding and re-discovering your balance in life. El Silencio Lodge, surrounded by the lush green cloud forest, is located in the Central Volcanic Mountain Range on the slopes of the Poás Volcano. The lodge offers luxury mountain suites, a unique spa, and a fine restaurant. Wake up to the sounds of nature and challenge your senses on a rainforest hike as you try to follow the tracks of forest animals, including coatis, raccoons, and pacas. You may visit the small village of Bajos del Toro to meet open-hearted, friendly Ticos, as Costa Ricans call themselves. The church, the school, the soccer field – all comprise the centre of every small town in Costa Rica. Be sure to visit Doña Olga’s pulpería, a small grocery store which doubles as the place to meet for local residents.

Costa Rica is part of the volcanic mountain range along the Pacific Coast of the Americas, known as the “Ring of Fire”. Your journey continues through the northern lowlands of Costa Rica to the impressive Arenal Volcano. Your rooms will be ready and waiting for you at Nayara Hotel, Spa & Gardens. The hotel’s villas are hidden in the tropical forest, each offering its own private plunge pool fed by natural mineral hot springs.

A short, panoramic flight to Costa Rica's Caribbean Coast will take you to Tortuguero, one of Costa Rica’s most famous national parks protecting a large area of rainforest and hundreds of small water canals. The park also protects the coastline, one of the most important nesting beaches in the world for Green Turtles.

Next stop on your journey is the agricultural region of Turrialba, where the boutique hotel Casa Turire is located, surrounded by sugarcane, macadamia and coffee plantations. Visit the Guayabo Monument, an archaeological site featuring Costa Rica’s largest prehistoric ruins.

The last days easily will be your favourite of the trip, which you will talk about many years from now. You will go to the exquisite Pacuare Lodge, set in pure rainforest beside one of the most beautiful rivers in the world – the Pacuare River – and you will get there riding on a raft! The sounds of the jungle and the rushing river will accompany you during your stay. Learn about Costa Rica’s indigenous Cabecar traditions while spending some time with these lovely people who live in the forest. If you prefer an adrenaline rush, you might consider trying the lodge’s own canopy zip lines or canyoning tour. The rafting trip out will take you through an untouched rainforest canyon, where you can observe birds and other wildlife, and defeat exciting class III and IV rapids.

Your stay in Costa Rica doesn’t have to end here! You can easily extend your stay to visit one of the splendid beach hotels the Pacific Coast has to offer.

Relax and Golf

Playing golf in Costa Rica is always unforgettable since impressive nature scenes reward you at every turn.

There are six outstanding, world-class 18-hole courses, and the same number of 9-hole courses, in Costa Rica. Boasting more than 30 national parks and dozens more wildlife refuges and protected areas, tropical rainforests, volcanoes, and stunning beaches, Costa Rica grants the perfect frame for memorable trips for golf-enthusiasts and their companions.

To warm up and get used to the new tropical climate, you will start with a round of golf in the Central Valley, where you also will get acquainted with our capital city of San José. You can choose between the 18-hole golf course Valle del Sol in the heart of the Central Valley, designed by the recognised North American architect Tracy May; or the Cariari Country Club Golf Course, a private green with narrow fairways and an extensive tree population, complemented by the repeated crossing of a watercourse, which requires a very precise play.

The next days you will spend in the region of the Cerro de la Muerte, some of Costa Rica’s highest mountains, at Hacienda AltaGracia, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. The AltaGracia Boutique Hacienda brings together authentic Costa Rican hospitality with the highest degree of comfort. Signature experiences include a flight with the hotel’s Ultralight planes, and a riding excursion on one of the more than 40 well-bred horses that live in the immaculate stalls and ample meadows at the resort. If you prefer quiet time, stay at the Hacienda and enjoy the fresh, clean air and the amazing views this place offers, along with the Spa, indoor pool, meditation and yoga path, among other services.

Leaving Hacienda AltaGracia, the journey down to the Pacific Coast to Uvita is remarkable. You will experience up close the difference in vegetation, temperature and humidity between the high mountains and Kurá Design Villas at sea level. Whales usually can be seen here during about eight months of the year!

At Los Sueños Marriott in Playa Herradura, you will try your handicap at the La Iguana Golf Course. This gem is located on the Central Pacific Coast and is a special treat for nature enthusiasts. Surrounded by pure rainforest with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, this 6,698-yard, Par 72 golf course is also home to monkeys, Scarlet Macaws, iguanas and other animals that may provide delightful distraction.

Another highlight comes next – visiting La Fortuna near the impressive Arenal Volcano. Relax in local hot springs, hike at the base of the volcano, and enjoy a cultural excursion to a 150-year-old Costa Rican farm.

The Pan-American Highway takes you to the last part of your journey to the northern Pacific Coast and the three best golf courses in Costa Rica. First, you will visit Tamarindo and the golf course at Hacienda Pinilla, designed by Mike Young. Wide and partly lined with lush vegetation, the fairways let players realise most different golf varieties.

Next will be Reserva Conchal and the Garra de Leon Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones II. This championship course offers plenty of challenges for all levels as the different tee areas were cleverly placed.

And lastly, the jewel of courses at the Papagayo Peninsula, mentioned by Golf Digest as one of the 100 best golf courses outside the USA. Designed by Arnold Palmer, this varied course offers attractive fairways, some of them with large differences in altitude and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

Extend your stay at Four Seasons Papagayo, El Alma Soul Retreat, a private villa near the golf course, or at Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort to enjoy the spectacular location of the peninsula and its secluded beaches.
